Franz Bardon (1909-1958)
Bardon was one of the most important but least known occult teacher of the twentieth century. He is largely known through four books he had written. Bardon was known to stress practical occult knowledge that is useable and with practice can empower the aspirant. While Bradon's books include fair amount of theory, he is the most practical teacher of the occult known today.
In the olden days the when the aspirant wanted to learn about the mysteries of the Universe, he had to find a Guru or attempt to join a mystery school. Either way the course of learning always included several steps of initiations as he moved foreward in leaning. Now, this is not available, as real Gurus or mystery schools do no exist. However, the next best thing is available, the Bardon Self-Initiation course.
Bardon was very modest about himself and did not create a cultus of followers, at least through his writings. After a while he had followers, who secretly applied his teaching and practiced what he wrote. This is partially because Bardon was set against the formidabble and dark occult power of Hitler's Third Reich. In fact Bardon was sent into the Nazi concentration camp for refusing to aid Hitler.
Bardon's Trilogy of Books plus his autobiographical fourth book, Frabato the Magician.
I. Initiation into Hermetics, II. The key to the true Quabbalah, and III. Practice of Magical Evocation.

Bardon is Popular Today
William Mistele and Rawn Clark are the two, better known followers/students of Bardon. Rawn Clark is an accomplished teacher himself; he had written the Bardon Companion Book. Many of Bardon's followers and his publisher, Dieter Ruggeberg are are based in Europe, so Bardon's books are expensive and not widely distributed in the USA.
