Karma

Very few people have detailed knowledge on how karma works and this little chapter is hopefully to broaden that number.

The reason I am writing this is personal. A few days back I had a bunch of kids in front of my house with a flat. They were going from door to door asking to borrow someone’s spare tire. Of course nobody would give them the spare for the lack of certainty of them ever returning it. Nobody would help. It seemed that they had a problem they should solve on their own.

We shall come back to their story later. Now, it is enough to say that help was not forthcoming when it was needed. Was this a karmic event?

Can thoughts be karmic? When considering that thoughts are the forbearers of actions it is definite that they have strong karmic charge. I am not talking about idle ideas or musings but deep and deliberate thought is almost always a precursor of some action.

Thoughts come alive after one conjures them and even in the event when the originator of the thought is not acting on them, someone ultimately will. You see thoughts group themselves into positive and negatively charged vortexes. These vortexes can influence feeble minded people and ultimately the negative thoughts of certain pitch can result in negative acts.

You see, even your negative thoughts can have karmic impact on you and others.

This is what the new thought movement with the Christian Science and New Thought movement resurrected at the turn of the century. These were of course known much before their time but on and off mankind forgot the weight and seriousness of how our thinking can influence us.

Now let’s get back to karma. It is important to know that besides individual karma, there is karma of a group of people and even a whole nation. The USA carries some positive and negative karma from the acts of her historical events. The idea of a nation of free men welcoming others openly is a magnificent deed and carries tremendous positive karmic charge. The founding fathers of the USA were High Souls. The symbol of the USA is an Eagle but the cosmic symbol is the Phoenix. This means no matter how bad things will get here and around the world, the USA shall rise from the ashes (like the phoenix). (see Manly Palmer Hall’s book – “The Secret Destiny of America“) And things will get worse before they will turn around. We are on a collision course with destiny ever since the Kennedy assassination. (a very bad karmic event) and the Vietnam War (cannot say which was worse), and now the Iraq and Afghanistan War) shall I go on?

It must be injected here that people in the military have no karmic debt to righteous acts during their service to their country. People and politicians who start wars carry the entire karmic debt of such an event.

Spiritual people on the path of the Light can ask the Hierarchy to speed up their karma hence facilitate their spiritual advancement on a “fast track” This can work in most cases except in some severe circumstance when a person does something horrendous which might  have to be settled in a next life scenario.

Karmic scenarios could come back again and again into people’s lives through several lifetimes. People who abuse their kids or other people’s kids come back in a new incarnation and in turn they will be at the mercy of a foster parent or alcoholic mother or an abusive stepfather.

You see, I have asked to have MY KARMA sped up, and two days after I failed to lend a hand to these teenage kids with a flat, I locked the keys inside my car at work. My car was idling for 9 hours with the radio and air going the entire time. After discovering this, I panic stricken, then asked our security people to help, only to find out that the only person in charge of “lock-outs” is already working on one. (What are the odds of that?) And I had to wait an hour to finally have the officer open my car!

Now, you can all say that is bogus, this was just a coincidence. But was it really? I’m not naive, I simply pay attention to detail and I know when things happen for a reason, and otherwise.

Giving a helping hand is mandatory, or else one suffers karmic retribution. Helping cannot be conditional and based on feelings, it must be offered when one is in dire need. After I refused help I felt bad but I made excuses in my mind. I rationalized my reason about the spare and about my lack of mechanical skills. The more one rationalizes the more that person is led astray.

When something bad happens to me I always think hard and long to find the reason. The reason is not always obvious but there are times just like this that confirm to me as fact that everything I have learned and know is REAL.

There is nobody “out to get you” and blaming others is often a convenient excuse to sidetrack us from the real source to your troubles at times, but the buck stops with YOU.

Spiritual vs. Karmic Family

Family is the strongest bond between humans. It provides psychological and tangible safety and resources to endure any struggle. Not all families are good, and in any family there are always problems and discord. Some families are simply dysfunctional. What family one gets born into seems like random chance. If you are in the right family your life will be smooth, conversely if you are born into a dysfunctional family it will be an uphill battle.

The family we are born into are NEVER random, and not by chance, but out of karmic destiny.

In past lives we somehow created, by acts and thoughts, the family we have today. Having a dysfunctional family is not a punishment but a chance to learn from past mistakes and put things right. People often get into the Teaching who come from difficult family circumstances. This is quite prevailing yet never perplexing; after all one must leave their family behind and move on. We are all ONE, and in reality all connected and not only the ones currently in your gene pool or by family ties. A cozy karmic family is often comforting yet strangely suffocating and could keep the aspirant from moving onto greener pastures.

Advanced spiritual beings usually leave their karmic families and set unto themselves a new course. Of course they will never marry and will not beget children. These things would just hold them back. Responsibility of raising a family and serving God are not mutually excusive but at some level these two destinies part. Advanced Souls are always bachelors. Mundane attachment to families and material things are not of interest to them.

Jesus never married despite the movies and novels portraying Mary Magdalene as Jesus’ wife. Only fiction writers and people in utter lack of understanding basic spiritual laws would come up with stories like this.

Are they without family? Certainly not! While having a karmic family is not their choice, these advanced beings have a Spiritual family. This bond is by choice and often the bond is stronger than their karmic family. A spiritual family can flourish and act in accordance of the desires and wishes of the White Brotherhood.

In a Spiritual family the living arrangement can be in the form of a communal house where costs are kept low and members are never to suffer loneliness and despair.  All that is needed is Love.
