Far Memory

This is the word that keeps coming up when people who are mystically predisposed contemplate their prior incarnations and past life’s*. To remember a past life, one must be advanced enough in esoteric matters to understand and be able to carry the added burden of knowing other life’s, seemingly distant, yet reflecting upon your very own spirit. Was it really you in spirit, who committed that act that was done by a different soul, who is actually you? Or is she? We were everything before; men, women, white, non-white, straight and gay, gentle and not so gentle, murderers or at least spectators to murder…

Joan Grant wrote a great novel, the Winged Pharaoh on reincarnation. You see, she was a reincarnationist, and that made her a history buff, a lover of the ancient past, Egyptian, distant civilization. Grant rose to unexpected fame upon publication. The New York Times reviewer hailed it as “A book of fine idealism, deep compassion and a spiritual quality pure and bright as flame’” a sentiment echoed in countless reviews the world over.

It was told by Grant, after she had travelled to Egypt, with the archaeologist Leslie Grant, that she found, when she held a particular scarab to her head, it transported her back to first-dynasty Egypt in the person of a female pharaoh called Sekeeta. In her autobiography, Far Memory, published in 1956, she reiterated that it was her training as a priestess in this Egyptian lifetime that developed her ability to recall other lives.

When you meet an old soul, usually there is a hint; the unexplained love of history and archeology, or even antiques; why is that certain people are drawn to old things, in general and in most cases specifically to certain eras in the human past? I, for example always had a vivid attraction to Roman era’s and to WWII. Other segments in human history were also alive in me, but these two eras have an especially strong draw. Not all people on this Earth are what some call, “old souls”. There are many, but for the most part we have young souls, one or two incarnations. Most live with this hidden and suppressed knowledge, like it was not there.

Many people who are old souls, have no clue of their past, all that is within them, in the akashic records, the tittles and jots, all acts that mattered and even thoughts, are kept forever. The reason for this, the systematic lies, obfuscation of the Truth, the aberration of the Christian faith.

The higher ups along with Constantine took all the Ancient Wisdom, the traces of the truth in the Gnostic past and wiped them all out. They systematically erased the facts of the true message of Jesus, the real agenda of his teaching, the sacred, inner destiny of men – replaced them with some phantasmagoric idea of spilled blood will save mankind, and the divinity of Jesus, the fear of Hell and striving for their bizarre notion of Heaven. Anyone who stood in their way was murdered, silenced or claimed to be a witch. Karma and Reincarnation was erased from the minds and vocabulary of the masses.

Of course, Karma – the law of cause and effect and reincarnation, the transmigration of souls, could explain a whole lot of the unexplained questions the church have been unable to provide to the masses, satisfactorily.

Questions like, “why are we here?”, or “why is god doing this to me?” should be self explanatory in the context of the Ancient Wisdom. Naturally, God is not doing anything to you; IT (not a HE or SHE) never did and never will. You are doing it ALL to yourself. You are here, in this snapshot of self, to learn ONE LESSON. This lesson is stemming from your past, most recent life. If you fail this time, no worries, you can repeat as many times as you like. Further, every thought and deed you do in this life is setting you up for your next. This is an esoteric fact!

Of course, Jesus was divine; he WAS the son of god. But so am I. You are too; you are the son of god. We all are.

When they lie to the people for 2000 years, this lie will undoubtedly cause some conflict and the need for healing. Far memories get clouded, people live in fear of death and fear of being alive. The scars of the falsehoods of religion will heal slowly. We are beginning to realize the cyclical nature of Time. We are beginning to realize that like seasons, we pass on from lifetime to lifetime, and there is no death, nothing is terminal, only passing on the soul like a used overcoat. The naked spirit will take up a new coat (a body and a soul) and will repeat the cycle until the need for rebirth and”death” are no longer needed. When the karmic slate is CLEAN, we can stop.

When people start seeing the clear picture and realize that they were duped and lied to for all this time, then and only then, they can start seeking reincarnation a plausible and even a logical mechanism of setting wrongs right. There is no heaven or hell. Both are concepts of you which can be interchanged but never jointly held.

The Meaning of Life

Many people are wondering why they are here. What is the purpose of their life? To fully understand this question we must also understand karma and reincarnation better. If you do not believe in karma and reincarnation stop reading this as it will be a waste of your time. To the millions of people who are somewhat familiar with the Law of Karma, that knowledge can be a basis of further understanding life’s mysteries and even get a glimpse of the meaning of life.

Life as a whole is a lesson. What the lesson on hand is not apparent because most of us are unaware of past lives and deeds. Our lives are only important in the way we interact and affect the lives of others. A good honorable life is filled with self-sacrifice and giving. Lacking these attributes gives a glimpse of certain shortcomings of the beholder. Most of us have lived thousands of lives, we have been black, white, Asian, men, woman.

We have been murderers and spectators of murder. Our evolutionary progress in the spiritual reams takes us through time and space, incarnating from body to body with some short interludes on the subtle plane. The ultimate purpose is to stop the cycle of the robotic repetition of the same mistakes and fall of the wheel of karma. This is the Buddhist terminology of Enlightenment.

Karma is life’s “cosmic bank account”. We accumulate good and bad karma with every deed and thought. Our karmic balance predetermines the condition we incarnate into. Be it our economic status, parents, race or environment, what we are born into is all set even before we were conceived, and… is choreographed to perfection.

Dharma is the all encompassing path of achievement that suits us for this incarnation. This is what we are to do in this life. However, get this, we are free to turn away and choose other purposes and vocations.

The storehouse of heaven is filled with unfulfilled prophecies because we always have the freedom to choose! The catch is fulfilling your Dharma will make you happy. Joseph Campbell knew this and advised all to “follow your bliss”. If you, for some reason are not following your bliss, you will eventually have to as you are prolonging the inevitable. In the next life you will face the same set of conditions as in the one where you went astray. In a sense, you can push the pause button on your own progress, however the next time; life’s lesson will be harder than the first.

Following our Dharma will lead us to life lessons and situations that we are to work out; hence we are fulfilling our purpose. Whether we pass the tests given to us is a whole different story.

This cyclical nature of succession of lives is very much in line with the cyclical nature of time, seasons and lower forms of biological life.  We see flowers bloom, whither away and bloom again. There is no reason to think that our path is any different.

As one wise old lady (HPB) once wrote;

“The LAW for the birth, growth and decay of everything in cosmos, from the sun to the glow-worm in the grass is ONE. It is an everlasting work of perfection with every new appearance, but the Substance-Matter and Forces are all one and the same.
